Latest Stories... Cicero, Indiana, located due north of Indiana state capital Indianapolis and Noblesville, is a nice little Midwestern town with a population of 4,414 in 2006. Original settlers in the town go back as far as 1830, and the town was platted in 1834. Morse Reservoir forms the focal point of most of its residential area, but Cicero is probably best known as the burial place of Ryan White, the national poster child for HIV/AIDS. Ryan was kicked out of school because of his HIV infection, which he contracted through a contaminated blood treatment for his condition, like so many others in this sad epoch of humanity. This erupted into a high-profile legal fight against the public school system. It was during this melee that Ryan White became the famous spokesman for AIDS research and for educating the public about it. He died just before graduating from high school. As did many of its small-town neighbors, Cicero experienced some success in its early years due to the plentiful natural gas reserves found throughout the area.
