Lights Over Morse Lake: A Dazzling Event in Cicero for July 2, 3 and 4

Cicero, Indiana puts on an enormous celebration over the Independence Day holiday every year called Lights Over Morse Lake. Utilizing several venues around Cicero, this annual event routinely draws visitors from Indianapolis and other nearby cities in Indiana, but Cicero residents think of it as their very own thing.

They have good reason to think this way; it takes almost a full year and countless volunteers to plan and produce a three-day party such as Lights Over Morse Lake. Some of the many events include a parade, a music festival, a carnival, a talent show, a boat flotilla, a Civil War reenactment and, of course, the fireworks show.

In this video, you’ll witness the Indiana Indiana Transportation Museum‘s special Fireworks Train in action as it whizzes to the Lights Over Morse Lake event in Cicero, Indiana.

Teaming up with the city’s citizens, the good folks who keep the Indiana Transportation Museum running in nearby Noblesville, Indiana, offer round-trip train transportation on their venerable locomotives throughout the three-day event. They call this special transport the Fireworks Train.

Cicero residents should be proud of their creation, which has turned out to be not only one of the most popular things to do in Cicero, but a favorite greater Indianapolis event as well.
