Morse Lake: Fabulous Lakefront Neighborhoods

Morse Lake is lined with fabulous waterfront Indianapolis homes, located a mere 20 miles north of Indianapolis downtown. The quaint town of Cicero, Indiana borders the the north shore of Morse Lake, while the southern boundaries are in the ‘harbors’ of the city of Noblesville.

Formed at the juncture of Big Cicero and Little Cicero creeks, Morse is a man-made lake that was constructed in 1956 and is the third largest reservoir for the city of Indianapolis. For more than a half a century, Morse Lake has been bringing Hoosiers together for fun on the water.

This 1500 acre body of water has a 35 mile shoreline and seven miles of navigable water. Unlike Eagle Creek, there are no restrictions on boating, meaning residents are not only limited to using pontoons, kayaks, canoes, sail or paddle boats, but may also employ motorboats and jet skis.

95% of the shoreline on the lake is occupied by homes, which house nearly 25,000 residents. 5% of the homes on the northern end of the lake are cottages. Most homes are owned by Indianapolis residents looking to escape the rat race of the work week. Imagine coming home to the shores of the lake on a warm Summer evening. Sit and relax by the water with a nice cool drink, and be transported to a different place where time stops and the world rests.

Or get active on the lake. Enjoy prime fishing, fun boating, swimming and more all as close as your back door. Each house has its own personal dock and launch point into the lake, making it easy to slip into the middle of the water at a moments notice.

Plus there are several Indianapolis attraction located nearby. Enjoy an evening with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra at Conner Prairie’s Symphony on the Prairie. Walk the trail at Potter’s Covered Bridge in Noblesville. Find fabulous shopping in Noblesville, which offers more than 50 specialty shops, including antique malls, collectibles, coffee shops and restaurants. Visit the Indiana Transportation Museum, committed to preserving Indiana’s railroad history. Or take in a concert at the nearby Verizon Wireless Music Center.
